If you are a veteran Pokemon fan you probably remember the 90’s and the swarm of pokemon related toys and games however one of these toys will stand out for Board Bame Fans known as the Pokemon Master Trainer Board Game.

It was 1999 and Hasbro along with board game designer Milton Bradley released Pokémon Master Trainer, a board game that attempted to recreate the experience of both the video game and the hit anime series.

Based on the Nintendo Pokemon franchise, each player becomes a Pokemon Trainer (represented by Ash Ketchum figures) making his way around the pre-made board map to get to Indigo Plateau where he can challenge the current, reigning Pokemon Champion (represented by cards) to a battle with the Pokemon he’s collected on the trip there.

Item Cards give you or your creatures special powers and players can battle each other as well.

However, according to the YouTuber JWittz, the game’s bizarre rule structure not only stacks the deck against the players, it almost seems to be designed to keep anyone from winning.

So why not celebrate Pokemon Day and Board Games in Style and check out his video below as we flashback to this historic Pokemon Board Game
