I really enjoy Board games that meet a wide audience and sometimes in an attempt to include more people into a board games franchise publishers and game creators do things that are very unique and special.

That is the case with these board games where the designers have gone above and beyond to create additional expansions or allowing the game to join multiple copies together to support more players.

Here are 3 board games that when combined with multiple copies can support 12 players.

Dead of Winter

When you combine Dead of Winter, Dead of Winter the long night and dead of Winter Warring Colony’s players are able to support 12 players as the two colonies fight it out against each other.

Game Description

Dead of Winter

Dead of Winter
is a meta-cooperative psychological survival game. This means players are working together toward one common victory condition – but for each individual player to achieve victory, he must also complete his personal secret objective. This secret objective could relate to a psychological tick that’s fairly harmless to most others in the colony, a dangerous obsession that could put the main objective at risk, a desire for sabotage of the main mission, or (worst of all) vengeance against the colony! Certain games could end with all players winning, some winning and some losing, or all players losing. Work toward the group’s goal, but don’t get walked all over by a loudmouth who’s looking out only for his own interests!

Dead of Winter is an experience that can be accomplished only through the medium of tabletop games. It’s a story-centric game about surviving through a harsh winter in an apocalyptic world. The survivors are all dealing with their own psychological imperatives, but must still find a way to work together to fight off outside threats, resolve crises, find food and supplies, and keep the colony’s morale up.

Dead of Winter has players making frequent, difficult, heavily- thematic, wildly-varying decisions that often have them deciding between what is best for the colony and what is best for themselves.

Dead of Winter the Long Night

Dead of Winter: The Long Night
is the new stand-alone expansion for Dead of Winter: A Crossroads game.

Obtain more of everything that made Dead of Winter an epic struggle for power and survival! Experience a new colony full of new survivors and new gameplay elements, each of which is introduced to players through its own game scenario.

  • Fight off bandits from another colony!
  • Build improvements to make the colony cozier!
  • Unravel the mysteries of the new Raxxon Pharmaceutical location! It is full of powerful items, but also full of Raxxon’s twisted human experiments that show up in the game as disturbing new enemies.
  • Play 2 special story scenarios that guide you through the new expansion modules.

*All new characters! All new crossroad card deck! All new main objectives! All new secret objectives! Tons of new items!

Dead of Winter: The Long Night can be bought alone and is a fully-realized Dead of Winter experience by itself. You can also combine everything – characters, items, objectives, crossroad cards, etc – between The Long Night and the original Dead of Winter.

Players: 2 – 5
Playtime: 60 – 120 Minutes

Suitable for ages 12 & up

Dead of Winter Warring Colony’s

Prepare for an all-out war between surviving colonies in the Warring Colonies expansion for Dead of Winter! A conflict is brewing over resources and territory and the fate of your colony is at stake. Combine this box with a copy of Dead of Winter or Dead of Winter: The Long Night to add new survivors, items, crossroads cards, and crisis cards to the game, or combine all three for an epic colony vs. colony variant for up to eleven players. Pick a side or become the Lone Wolf, playing both sides to accomplish your secret goals. No matter what you choose, you’ll face plenty of new challenges in this harsh, zombie-infested world.

  • Expand your Dead of Winter games with new survivors, items, crossroads cards, and crisis cards
  • Play as the Lone Wolf, loyal to none and driven by your own secret motives

Spyfall

Spyfall is a fantastic social deduction game where players give each other cryptic clues to try to prove that they are not the spy i use to recommend that plays combine two copies to allow for more players however the latest spyfall two has increased the player count to 12 players.

Game Description

Spyfall 1

Spyfall
is a party game unlike any other, one in which you get to be a spy and try to understand what’s going on around you. It’s really simple!

Spyfall is played over several rounds, and at the start of each round all players receive cards showing the same location — a casino, a traveling circus, a pirate ship, or even a space station — except that one player receives a card that says “Spy” instead of the location. Players then start asking each other questions — “Why are you dressed so strangely?” or “When was the last time we got a payday?” or anything else you can come up with — trying to guess who among them is the spy. The spy doesn’t know where he is, so he has to listen carefully. When it’s his time to answer, he’d better create a good story!

At any time during a round, one player may accuse another of being a spy. If all other players agree with the accusation, the round ends and the accused player has to reveal his identity. If the spy is uncovered, all other players score points. However, the spy can himself end a round by announcing that he understands what the secret location is; if his guess is correct, only the spy scores points.

After a few rounds of guessing, suspicion and bluffing, the game ends and whoever has scored the most points is victorious!

  • Number of Players: 3–8
  • For Ages: 15 and up
  • Easy to learn and game set-up takes just a few seconds
  • 30 Locations makes for great re-playability
  • Choose your own game length
  • Amusing original art
  • Advanced game mode has you take on a role at each location, making your answers more interesting
  • Great social party game!

Spyfall 2 features the same gameplay as Spyfall with two important changes: (1) Enough location cards are included that the upper player count is now twelve instead of eight, and (2) two spies can be found at each location, giving all of the non-spy players more of a challenge when it comes to tracking down who doesn’t belong.
