It’s offical unicorns are real in the world of Pokémon.

The live stream was the biggest Pokémon news last week fans turned into YouTube intently to watch the 24 hour Pokémon live stream event waiting to catch a glimpse of what sword and shield may have to offer.

Fans where not disappointed when the pastel unicorn creature galloping around the live stream was indeed a Galarian version of everybody’s favourite fire horse Ponyta. New details on the Unicorn Horn Pokémon have now been released after the developer game freak have now confirmed that Galarian Ponyta is a Pokémon Shield exclusive.

This news comes after Sirfetch’d was announced as a Pokémon sword exclusive now giving us an exclusive for each game.

The biggest surprise however is this unicorns type with it being confirmed as a psychic type not a fairy type as fans have been theorising due to its colour scheme and well the fact that it’s a unicorn.

This now leaves players with a difficult choice as it’s not going to be easy to choose between Sirfetch’d a Sword exclusive, and a unicorn!

Game freak also released details about the Two different abilities that have been listed for Galarian Ponyta.

These two abilities are “Pastel Veil” and “Run Away,” which fans have noted may explain why it was so secretive during the 24 hour live stream.

The Pokémon Company has described Pastel Veil as an ability that “prevents the Pokémon and its allies from becoming poisoned.” Pastel Veil can also cure poisoned Pokémon from its ailment when it joins a battle.

A really helpful battle ability that I am sure will become a fan favourite once the game is released in November.

We’ve also learned during this release how Ponyta’s fiery mane has turned into cotton candy fluff (are we sure this isn’t a fairy Pokémon). Apparently according to the Pokémon company, Galarian Pokémon have been in the region’s Glimwood Tangle forest “since ancient times,” where they were they have been exposed to “overflowing life energy” from the forest.

The Ponyta from this forest can now absorb life energy from the atmosphere and store it in its mane.

This then causes Ponyta’s mane to sparkle like like fans saw during the 24 hour live stream  when there’s is a lot of energy in the atmosphere.

Like Sirfetch’d, Galarian Ponyta has been added to the growing list of new Pokémon that have a unique look for the new Pokémon games and we can’t wait until November to see what else is in store.

Both Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, are set in the new Galar region, will be released on Nov. 15 for Nintendo Switch.
